book share by pivot creative

Amsterdam design studio, Pivot Creative, has created a new way to share books.  The Ruilbank is an intervention on Amsterdam public benches meant to create sharing spaces and trigger connections among people through the exchange of reading material.

The large red metal clips secure to the outside of a park bench, visitors are encouraged to interact with the object by attaching reading material to the clip in order to share with whoever chooses to participate.  Reading material will also be provided by the program and will be placed under the clip daily until september 28th.

Nine benches around the city will have the clips attached, including parks and urban areas.  The playful and interactive project was conceived with the idea to encourage interaction in public spaces and to pull away from the typical technology based activities we have become accustomed to.
