KATE STONE CREATES PAPER DJ DECKS

kate-stone
The amazing Kate Stone and her company Novalia are back! Kate gave another Ted Talk yesterday about her latest creation, an interactive DJ Deck printed on paper. The Bluetooth DJ deck is hooked up to an i-pad and plays your beats as you control them through the paper equipment. In addition to the new turn tables, Stone has experimented with newspapers embedded with audio and video, posters that display energy usage in real time and a paper drum kit.

Kate and her team at Novalia are continuously dreaming up new ways to use an ordinary printing press to create interactive electronics by using touch sensitive ink and printed circuits.  Their goal is to bridge art and science by reinventing existing technologies.

Read our previous blog post about Kate Stone from her first Ted Talk back in February.  She shares her story and some of her first projects.
